Confused about who should be fixing your leak?
You’re responsible for fixing leaks within your property boundary. This includes internal plumbing (eg: toilets) and the supply pipe under your garden or driveway.
If you rent your property, your landlord is responsible for fixing leaks.
Note: If you don't fix your leak within four weeks: Under Section 75 of the Water Industry Act 1991, Thames Water may charge you for the repairs.
In an emergency, you may need to turn off your supply until the leak has been repaired.

What to do during general flooding

There are different types of flooding, and the responsibility depends on the kind of flood. You’ll need to contact the right organisation to help you.
If the flood is coming from a river, please contact the Environment Agency on 0800 807 060.
Flooding from groundwater can happen when the level of water within the rock or soil that makes up the land surface (known as the water table) rises.
The level of the water table changes with the seasons due to variations in long term rainfall and water abstraction.
This is when flooding occurs due to a blocked gully, which is a slotted drain usually found close to the kerbside
