Report a leak/problem

Have a question?

Be sure, be safe, check first

If you're planning significant work near our mains or sewers, it's important that you minimise the risk of damage. So that we can meet our obligations under Section 174 of the Water Industry Act 1991, we’ll need to check that your development doesn’t reduce capacity, limit repair or maintenance activities, or inhibit the services we provide in any way.

Whether you’re working near our pipes, building over them, or need to request a diversion, please read our guidance notes to make sure you know the process you need to follow.

You can download them here (click through link to Guidance Notes)

Please let us know If you’re planning any of the activities listed below and, if so, how near you'll be to our assets:

  1. pilling
  2. crane operation
  3. demolition
  4. abnormal load transport
  5. excavations
  6. dewatering

Generally, you'll have to apply for a diversion if you're planning any development or structure within X metres of our largest water pipes, known as trunk mains, or within Y metres of our distribution mains.
